Doing good together: The Komax Group supports the community

Inside Komax

Helping, donating, doing good. The Komax Group wants to be a responsible member of society and support the community in the places where it operates. Almost all Komax locations are actively committed in some way. We asked what is being done and what special activities are planned for the Christmas time.

For many years, the Komax Group has been committed to the local communities in which it operates and supports a wide variety of projects in places where it can have a direct impact. In Switzerland, for example, Komax is involved in several initiatives such as ‘Fascination of Technology’, which promotes young talent. The Schleuniger companies in the USA and Mexico have been supporting the Kiva project with loans since 2011, and within the Komax Group, people with special needs are employed at various locations so they can be integrated and participate in social life, as is the case at Komax in Shanghai and Schleuniger in Thun. But it is not just people who are supported: This year, Komax Automation India donated both goods and money to the ‘Earth Saviours Foundation’, which provides a place of refuge for those in need, but also cares for animals in distress and is strongly committed to protecting the environment.

Working time for charity projects
Every year, some Komax Group companies make time available for their employees to spend on a charitable initiative of their choice. This year, the Komax Corporation team in the USA invested their time packing food for the non-profit organization ‘Feed my Starving Children’ (FMSC). The apprentices at Komax SLE in Grafenau took part in the ‘Day for People with Disabilities’, supporting organizations and schools that care for people with special needs.

FMSC's meals are developed by food scientists and nutrition experts to meet nutritional needs and reduce malnutrition problems.

Even more support for Christmas
What is practiced throughout the year should of course not be neglected during the upcoming festive season. Collections, charity and donations are made at almost all Komax Group sites. At the Komax headquarters in Dierikon, for example, employees have been foregoing Christmas presents for many years. The money saved as a result is donated to several organizations in central Switzerland. Children's homes, children's cancer charities, Kinderspitex, which provides help and care at home, as well as organizations that look after the elderly and nature-related campaigns such as the mountain forest project have been actively supported in recent years. This year, Schleuniger USA employees are once again supporting numerous charitable organizations such as ‘St. Jude's, Wounded Warrior’ for children with cancer, the ‘Make-A-Wish’ foundation and the local animal shelter ‘Manchester Animal Shelter’ with substantial donations. Also the charitable organization ‘Catie's Closet’ benefited from a generous donation of money and materials from Schleuniger USA.

Schleuniger USA has supported ‘Catie's Closet’ with a large donation of clothing and children's shoes in addition to monetary support.

Schleuniger in Thun has been taking part in the ‘2 x Christmas’ campaign for many years. It donates collected food, hygiene articles as well as school and writing materials to help people living in poverty in Switzerland. Komax SLE in Grafenau supports various regional associations in the Christmas raffle and takes part in the Advent calendar of the ‘Mehrgenerationenhaus’, a central meeting place for children, young people, adults and senior citizens.

From Switzerland to India, whether head quarter or subsidiary, through apprentices or managers - with every project, every donation and every hour of voluntary work, the Komax Group reaffirms its promise to be a responsible member of society. Not only, but also at Christmas time.
