TSK Robotic: fully automated end-of-line inspection station for cross-process cost optimization

Technology & Innovation

At this year’s Productronica, TSK Prüfsysteme will present the fully automated TSK Robotic, an end-of-line test station for wire harnesses. It paves the way for end-to-end digital testing and cross-process cost optimization.

Key insights

  • The TSK Robotic end-of-line test station performs all tests fully automatically.

  • It also supports TSK HV systems for shielded and unshielded lines.

  • TSK technologies can be freely combined and integrated into MES solutions.

The operator supplies the TSK Robotic with test objects, and the machine does the rest. All this is made possible through the groundbreaking solution from TSK Prüfsysteme, a division of the Komax Group. For the wire processor, this means maximum safety, productivity and much more.

Optimum support for TSK HV systems

TSK Robotic is an encapsulated system that can be fed with test objects from two sides. The robot correctly places the test object in the module, and from there it runs through all the tests fully automatically. The two-sided feeding system thus enables a timesaving alternating test cycle. The station also supports the TSK HV systems for shielded and unshielded lines with Simplex and Complex leak tests without changing adapters, which have been successfully launched on the market.

Modular, compatible design

Each automatic test station from TSK is unique because it is consistently designed for specific processes. All TSK technologies are compatible with each other and can be combined for specific customers and projects because they have an identical MM interface via the TSK software CS WIN. The system combines TSK Connect, the intelligent test adaptation technology (test modules) that has already been successfully launched on the market, with TSK Direct, the high-voltage testing and the online-capable value-added service, which is a prerequisite for further B2B solutions.

Complete traceability thanks to MES integration

Of course, the inspection station can be enhanced by MES solutions from TSK or integrated into existing solutions. It develops individual interfaces for this together with the customer as needed. All of this enables full traceability of product status at the time of testing throughout the project’s lifespan.

Shorter inspection times and fewer errors, thanks to reduced handling

Shortened test times and error avoidance due to the fully automated end-of-line test are essential for cost optimization. This leads to near continuous inspection intervals with reduced handling effort, with the goal of zero defect tolerance.

Big step towards 24/7 availability

TSK product solutions enable a wide range of added value functionalities through combining technologies and systemic expansion stages such as TSK Connect, online connections or TSK Direct, right up to automated ordering processes. Among other things, these include acquisition of spare parts and C items. This enables a lower capital commitment, as the spare parts inventory can be significantly reduced. Together with TSK Connect, Robotic optimizes the conditions for line maintenance and preventive maintenance. This is a major step towards the targeted 24/7 availability of the test system in this formerly unique form.

Modular and expandable as needed

You can get to know the TSK Robotic, which was already shown at the Digital Experience Days 2020, at the Komax booth at this year’s Productronica in Munich. Wire processors of any size and in any region will benefit, as TSK products can be used regardless of the project scope and are available globally. All technologies are available as a modular system and can be implemented and expanded step-by-step on a project specific basis – with close support from individual TSK consulting services.
