INNOVATION AWARD 2021: prestigious award for our “Smart Cabinet Building” initiative
Technology & Innovation
The “Smart Cabinet Building” initiative was established in 2020, with Komax as a founding member. It has now received the INNOVATION AWARD 2021 from the German trade journal “SCHALTSCHRANKBAU.”
Key insights
The “Smart Cabinet Building” initiative was established in 2020, with Komax, Weidmüller, Zuken and Armbruster Engineering as founding members.
The INNOVATION AWARD of the trade journal SCHALTSCHRANKBAU evaluates hardware and software solutions as well as services in terms of their competitiveness in this fiercely contested market.
The aim of the initiative is to find holistic solutions for the current and future challenges in control cabinet construction. This involves the interlinking of technology and expertise across all process steps, specifically through the consistent optimization of production processes using all the possibilities offered by digitalization. Only by taking a holistic view of the individual aspects of the value creation process can significant efficiency gains be achieved.
“Control cabinet construction in particular, with its still high proportion of manual activities, offers very promising approaches. These range from component selection and the prefabrication of wire harnesses, components and housings to assisted final assembly and testing prior to commissioning,” explains Matijas Meyer, CEO of the Komax Group.
Independent jury of the SCHALTSCHRANKBAU trade journal
Since 2020, the INNOVATION AWARD, a recognized and popular information platform among control cabinet manufacturers, has been rewarding innovations that make it possible to remain competitive in an increasingly competitive market. The independent jury from industry, teaching and research and the trade press particularly appreciated the way in which our “Smart Cabinet Building” initiative links the two elements of technology and expertise that are relevant to control cabinet construction.
Find out more in our live stream on May 6 and 7, 2021
On May 6 and 7, the “Smart Cabinet Building” initiative will offer a live demo on the theme of “From digital to physical.” Experience the interplay between the solutions by Komax, Weidmüller, Zuken and Armbruster Engineering using an integrated example. In just 75 minutes, we will demonstrate how you can specify the digital twin and then use the data for automated and assisted manufacturing (including live links to the machines). You can register here. Take this opportunity to learn more about the exciting possibilities available.
The initiative is also running a webinar series where you can learn more about the holistic approach, the partners and their solutions. You can find information about the next events here.
