Smart Cabinet Building – The digital twin for the cabinet building

The Smart Cabinet Building Initiative is a joint project involving the companies Weidmüller, Komax, Zuken, Armbruster Engineering and nVent Hoffman / Steinhauer. It aims to offer end-to-end solutions for the digitalisation of cabinet building through the networking of technology and expertise across all process steps. The solutions range from component selection, pre-assembly and wiring to testing based on data from the digital twin of the enclosure and its wiring.

The digital twin is generated using the E3.series software for planning electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control technology. Using the E3.series applications, the data generated is used directly to control the digitally controlled enclosure processing and assembly.

E3.series - Planning software for electrical and fluid technology, control cabinet layout and wiring harness design

E3.series covers all areas of electrical and hydraulic control technology with a complete range of tools - from functional planning, detailed circuit diagrams, cable diagrams and piping diagrams to control cabinet and wiring harness layouts in 2D and 3D. All applications access an intelligent component database that enables comprehensive electrical and logical checks for all development stages.

E3.series supports integration and data exchange with leading MCAD systems, thereby facilitating the creation of a complete digital twin. With its solutions for managing electrical design data and equipment libraries, E3.series also provides the basis for seamless integration with existing PLM and PDM environments. E3.series can be used as an enterprise wide solution across companies and locations.

DS-E3 - Design data management for electrical and fluid projects

The design data management environment DS-E3 supplies electrical designers and manufacturing engineers with up-to-date, validated E3.series design data, library and BOM information. This information is used to manage tasks and workflows for change and approval processes and to support intelligent design configuration and reuse through module and variant management.

DS-E3's robust design data management functionality is directly embedded within the E3.series suite user interface; it can be customised to meet the specific needs of different roles, such as schematic designer, panel designer, librarian or manufacturing planner. As DS-E3 is based on an industry-standard object-orientated architecture, it is ready for integration into existing PDM/PLM and ERP environments.

GENESYS - Model-Based Systems Engineering Software

The cross-disciplinary nature of modern products requires close coordination and collaboration between different teams, particularly between electrical, mechanical, software and systems engineers, ensuring that all product requirements are transparently realised in the detailed development.

Zuken's GENESYS MBSE solution bridges the traditional gap between the different disciplines and ensures that all team members have a clear and consistent understanding of the system under development. Whether it's sophisticated system architectures, managing complex requirements or validating critical performance metrics, GENESYS provides the essential tools to innovate and succeed in today's dynamic technology landscape.
