Abstract

From VISION to WIRING: PREEvision @EDAG

EDAG is investigating the entire development process as part of the KI4Boardnet research project. One result will be examined in more detail:

  • Process and databases for architecture development from scratch
  • Event-chain as base for communication, function modeling & wiring harness
  • With feature system wiring diagrams and 3D data to 2D-drawing
  • Data exchange with the digital foam board

Speaker

Dieter Hohmann

Project Manager - Expert Wiring Harness Development - Vehicle Engineering Electronics

At EDAG, Dieter Hohmann is responsible for the on-board network design in vehicle projects. EDAG develops in projects for startups and OEMs in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. This is essentially about the architecture, the correct use of CAD tools, the corresponding development process and the influence of automation on the cable harness.

The Contribution of Tape for Automizing Wire Harness Production

Today, up to 30% of the assembly time of a wire harness is required for taping. Therefore, automation plays a crucial role here. tesa already offers products that can be used for automated applications. In this presentation, tesa will present its vision of future wire harness production, the contribution of tape to automation and the specific advantages and possibilities of using tape for automation.
