WirePro Expo 2024
ARENA2036 e.V.
That's what we are: The innovation platform for mobility and production of the future
ARENA2036 stands for „Active Research Environment for the Next generation of Automobiles” and is one of nine research campi of the funding initiative "Research Campus – Public-Private Partnership for Innovations" in Germany. ARENA2036 is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is run as a registered association with members from science and industry. ARENA2036 is currently in its third funding phase and has around 60 members. The members of ARENA2036 are crucial for interdisciplinary collaboration on projects.
ARENA2036 brings together different specialist perspectives and working cultures to develop innovative solutions. The aim is to create disruptive innovations and transfer them to industry in order to actively shape the future of work, mobility and production in the digital age.
In the flexible factory hall, an open co-working space, diverse project groups collaborate, enabling effective knowledge transfer across companies and institutes. Projects include collaborative, focus, and speedboats, varying in duration, consortium size, funding, and scope.
Transformation Hub Wiring Harness
Hub for Innovations in the Wiring Harness Industry
The Transformation Hub Wiring Harness of the partners ARENA2036, Bayern Innovativ and OHLF serves as a central hub for trends and technologies within the wiring harness industry. It provides information on innovations and presents solutions and research approaches. Core activities include the "Trendausblick" and "Innovationsschau" events, where experts from the wiring harness value chain and research discuss developments and exchange ideas. Funded by the German government's „Zukunftsfonds Automobilindustrie“, the hub connects businesses and academia to support industry transformation.
Asset Administration Shell for Wiring Harness
Implementation of standardized digital twins in the value chain for the wiring harness
The automotive industry is experiencing profound change, with the wire harness serving as a central component. Its complexity and cost present challenges in global supply chains. The "Asset Administration shell for the wiring harness VWS4LS " project uses interoperable digital twins to represent all components (e.g., cables, connectors) as Industry 4.0 elements. This enables the automation and integration of key processes, thereby increasing efficiency and flexibility in the production and assembly of wiring harnesses.
