The new M1630 Jet Wire Marker now replaces the previous ims295 inkjet marker, which is no longer available. The basic functions are identical.
New standard functions include umlauts, lowercase letters, special characters, Cyrillic script, and reverse printing.
In combination with Komax HMI, the M1630 Jet offers additional functionalities. For example, it now also prints unique codes for each wire produced as well as 2D codes.
The M1630 Jet is compatible with previous machine generations and all TopWin software generations.
The new M1630 Jet Wire Marker was released just a few weeks ago. It is already widely used, firstly because it has more standard functions than its predecessor, the ims295, and secondly because, together with Komax HMI, it offers attractive additional functions.
Extended character sets and denser printing
The generally available, standard functions already offer clear advantages:
- The M1630 Jet now prints umlauts, lowercase letters, special characters and Cyrillic script and enables inverse printing, which increases legibility depending on the color of the wire and print.
- Text can be printed more densely (minimum spacing 5 mm), and character matrices of different resolutions can be freely combined.
- The new Print Editor simplifies operation by presenting all print parameters clearly on one page. It also automatically suggests the font height, which can of course be adjusted manually.
Komax HMI and the corresponding software option enable additional printing functions that significantly expand the range of applications. Newly added:
- Various time stamps, order and article information as well as the machine serial number
- New barcode types: UPC128 codes, UPC-A and Codabar
- 2D DotCode with a dot pattern that takes up significantly less space; the checksum increases security when reading.
- The readability of barcodes and dotcodes can be optimized by using the manual font size setting.
- Reading barcodes and dotcodes on wires requires a suitable 2D DPM-scanner (direct parts marking) and software.
Complete traceability of produced wires:
- Now wires can be printed with a unique identifier for each individual wire harness. The code consists of the date, time and machine serial number. This identifier is also available via the MIKO interface for the control system and can be supplemented with the individual measured values of the crimp force monitoring and all other quality tests.
- This identifier can be printed as text or as machine-readable code. This ensures error-free further processing by the operator or automated systems.
Investment protection thanks to maximum compatibility
The M1630 Jet optimally replaces the earlier ims295 in every respect, as it can also be used on earlier machine generations that have been in operation for 20 years or more. This protects your previous investments and allows you to renew your machinery step by step.
- Machines with TopWin generation 1 use the POPP interface, while machines with TopWin generation 2 use the KRPC interface. The range of functions corresponds to that of the previous ims295.
- Machines with Komax HMI work with the new KIMI interface. This enables the additional functionalities.
- The ims295 is no longer available, but can be used with its familiar functionality on existing machines with TopWin or with Komax HMI after a software update to version 1.5.
The M1630 Jet is available in three models:
- M1630 Jet BC as the standard version for dye-based and lightly pigmented inks
- M1630 Jet P for highly pigmented inks such as white, gray and light blue
- M1630 Jet S for small characters on wires up to 0.13 mm²
Positive feedback from our customers
After extensive testing in production, numerous customers are already switching from the ims295 to the M1630 Jet. Compared to the ims295, printing speed with the M1630 Jet could be increased by up to 21%. Dynamic flight-time compensation of ink droplets ensures consistent character width even during accelerated travel.

On operating the machine and printer with Komax HMI:
