Key insights

  • Komax invests in the health of its employees due to its convictions.

  • Central to Komax’s promotion of health are sports, games and fun, combined with prevention and information.

  • The wide range of offers motivates employees in Switzerland and promotes a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

The overarching goal of occupational health management (OHM) at Komax is to strengthen employees’ health resources. OHM encompasses health and occupational safety, integration management and personnel and organizational policies. In each of these areas, the focus is on strengthening employees’ health resources and well-being. An important part of OHM is the active promotion of health through many interesting services.

fit@work: being there is everything

The fit@work prevention program is available to all Komax employees in Switzerland. The range of services includes exercise, nutrition and relaxation, making those inclined to leisure just as happy as sports fans. By taking advantage of the services, employees can strengthen their physical and mental fitness and thus prevent illness. The Komax health survey, which takes place every three years, is also part of the service.

Motion: something for everyone

Komax offers its employees a wide range of exercise and sports activities. There are fitness classes twice a week during the lunch break. Whether beginner or professional, everyone is welcome to weekly in-house bowling and badminton. In addition, locker rooms and showers are available for fitness enthusiasts at both locations. Komax also regularly participates in the “bike to work” campaign. This initiative exemplifies team spirit, fun and movement. At the annual golf championship, work tools are swapped for golf clubs for a few hours, and Komax regularly offers interactive workshops on the subject of exercise.

Relaxation: strength lies in rest

All day long we are more or less active. Therefore, it is important we follow up active phases with rest and relaxation. When we are relaxed, we feel good, calm, relaxed, fresh and awake. Those who are relaxed can better assess themselves and others and make well-thought-out decisions. Together with external specialists, Komax therefore offers its employees regular workshops and easy-to-use tools on the topic of relaxation.

Nutrition: fit from the inside out

A balanced diet is particularly important in everyday working life, because it helps maintain and improve performance. Break rooms with modern infrastructure are available at all Komax sites in Switzerland. Furthermore, vending machines with a balanced assortment of food and free drinking water are available. With its regular fruit campaigns and workshops on the topic of nutrition, Komax also significantly contributes to strengthening the health of its employees.

Leadership and health: work in harmony

Komax offers its managers seminars on leadership and health. In these seminars, supervisors learn how to work effectively for themselves and with their employees to balance demands, productivity, resilience and recovery.

Digital health portal: news and useful information

Komax’s digital health portal in Switzerland consists of fit@work and safe@work, and is the central news and information portal for employees on the topics of health and occupational safety. In addition to current news, it also offers useful links and videos that impart knowledge and motivate people to lead a healthy lifestyle. The digital health portal thus adds the perfect finishing touch to the OHM offering. After all, the foundation of a successful company is healthy and satisfied employees.
